Krups Espresso Novo 964, not Porsche 964. I do kind of want to put a Turbo badge on it now that I know what it is though. Teal 964 Turbo for your time:
My parents got the espresso maker at a department store liquidation sale about 15 years ago. It’s one of those things that my dad used every once in a while, but mostly just sat in a cabinet collecting dust. Having traveled with us on a few moves, it’s missing some stuff, like the measuring spoon/tamp and manual. Today I decided to look up the manual online to make sure I’m using/maintaining it properly and that’s when I discovered the Type 964 designation on the bottom.
Turns out I was doing everything properly, which doesn’t surprise me because, with the right coffee, it makes tasty espresso. Not on the same level as the stuff from that Parisian cafe that got me hooked, but better than anything I’ve been able to find in rural Ohio or Indiana. Everyone around here is only interested in espresso for lattes and frappes.

You should totally get some Porsche/Martini Racing espresso cups for that. Too bad they are prohibitively expensive.
Sorry if all of these are Kinja’d - common problem these days.

When you really get into it Gaggia is pretty much the last and first name in home espresso makers. I have a Gaggia Classic. It’s been doing daily duties for 3 years now.

They used to only have two kinds. Now the museum sells like 10 different styles, probably making up new ones each year. Never see them for less that $75 per set of three. Maybe next Christmas...

I’ll have to remember that next time I’m ready to drop $400 on a coffee maker... O.o

I’m not much of a coffee drinker, so what you’re looking at is a whole $1.50 wasted . I should have just bought a bottle of generic Frappucino clone at the grocery store and been done with it.

Are you saying you obtained all three of those for $1.50?

No. All four for $1.50. Gotta include the Keurig.

The Keurig was found in a grocery cart outside of a surplus store near the Goodwill Outlet. New in the box. The other three were picked up at a thrift store that, on Sunday mornings, sells the oldest items in the store for $0.50, regardless of item type or original price (it used to be $0.25 or 5/$1.00, but they doubled their price).
I’ve picked up complete ‘80s-vintage stereo systems (I only wanted the rack but had to take it all), an HP Voodoo Blackbird 002 liquid-cooled computer case, a 26" widescreen CRT TV, and countless other things I probably didn’t need, all the while spending less than the price of a burger. Most of my Ralph Lauren shirts and Dockers come from the same sale, as do my shoes. When the last pair started to fade a little I didn’t sweat it since I was only out four bits...

But I don’t buy fufu coffee when I’m out and about because the stuff I make at home is better.

Yeah, getting coffee out is almost always disappointing.
